Welcome to boingbikes we hope you enjoy exploring or store.

Thats me Jonny (Store Owner) and all round bicycle enthusiast in the picture below servicing a bike in my other role as Owner/Manager of Boing Bicycles (mobile cycle repair around Bristol and Bath) which I've built into a solid successful  Google 5 star rated business with the help of a lot of repeat customers.

As a lifelong cyclist (40 something years and counting) I've always loved bicycles - like many in my generation I was inspired by and I rode the wave of the 1990s MTB boom - riding my bicycle at every opportunity in the wildernesses of the North of England where I grew up as a teenager. From converted railway tracks to actual hills and mountains I rode many miles with my best mate at the time.

After leaving college in 1997 I went and worked in Cycle Distribution for a while, then flirted with mainstream employment after that for 12 years before finally seeing the light and returning to my first love - Bicycles.

In 2013 I formally set up a Mobile Bicycle Service business in the Bristol and Bath area and now with well over 10 years officially ‘on the tools’ I wake up every day and find  it's something I still love doing - there is something life enriching about bringing a broken bike back to its best. 

2017 saw the set up a small eBay store which I’ve kept going as a way of selling on occasional overstock from the repair business under the handle of boing-biking

So here we now are at the tail end of 2025 after various customer suggestions and requests over the years - I’ve set up boingbikes as a shopping extension to the mobile repair business.

The idea is to sell parts, accessories and gift ideas to out existing loyal customer base and anyone else across the UK who's seeking out  long-lasting products.

As a cyclist and as a mechanic I’ve definitely been on the receiving end of some sub standard parts that don’t last .

At boingbikes however I’m determined it doesn’t have to be this way and that’s where 'bikestuff that just works'  as a motto comes from - products that we know from experience ‘in the field’  just work and will keep working - simple really.

Here’s hoping you find some cycling bits and pieces that you’d like to buy from our small independent business.

We’d also love it if you like our vibe enough to share what we’re doing with a friend and help us grow a community of happy customers.
